Tom Thornton, Owner and Founder, Sav-On Plumbing
Tom Thornton founded the company back in 2002 with the goal of helping home and business owners with their plumbing needs. With over forty years of experience in the plumbing field, Tom’s goal is to provide his customers with the best possible services and products at the best possible price.
Tom is one of the few plumbers in the valley repairing mobile homes as well as traditional homes. His 40 years of plumbing experience means he is the “go-to” guy for plumbing repair. Other plumbers often call Tom for advice and all his customers have his personal cell phone number.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys playing golf and got his first hole-in-one just a few years ago. When he does have a free time, he joins his wife, Nancy, in caring for their German shepherds. On the weekends you might find him feeding the birds from the porch of their rural home outside Prescott or just relaxing after a hard week’s work.
Nancy Germond, Co-Owner, Sav-On Plumbing
Nancy was working in the insurance and risk management industry when she first met Tom at a birthday party at her home almost a decade ago. A friend introduced him as “Tom the plumber,” and he immediately became her go-to plumber. She began working for him, handling his insurance and bookkeeping and managing his business risks. The rest of their story is history when they married in 2014. Both Tom and Nancy describe their match as one made in Heaven as the two share the same dreams and goals, a love of animals and a robust sense of humor.
Nancy and Tom enjoy raising German shepherds in their spare time. They are members of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce, the Glendale Rotary and active in volunteer work in their community. Their belief in doing always what’s best for their customers has helped to make Sav-On Plumbing the growing business it is today.
Jesse Guerrero, Plumber, Sav-On Plumbing
Jesse is a Phoenix native who attended Horizon and Chaparral High Schools. He comes from a large family of eight children. His father is a contractor and his mother a registered nurse. He is no stranger to hard work, helping his father by cleaning drains and helping with other plumbing chores when he was in his early teens. Today, he has about 14 years of plumbing expertise he brings to the job.
Jesse lives in the Buckeye area. His girlfriend teaches music and they have two dogs, a Rottweiler and a Labrador. He also has two bearded dragons. Jesse is a semi-professional pool player, so when things are slow at Sav-On, you can find Jesse at one of the local pool halls sharpening his game.
Jesse has worked for us since July 2016 and his customers rave about his customer service skills. Dubbed “the Adorable Plumber” by the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce, our customers love Jesse and we know you will, too.
Dan Hubbard, Plumber, Sav-On Plumbing
Dan Hubbard is an Arizona native, graduating from Cortez High School. Dan brings a wealth of experience to our team. He lives in Glendale with his three daughters. He’s an avid fisherman and plays the drums. Dan has been plumbing for over 17 years and brings a wealth of experience to the Sav-On Plumbing team.
Penny Ferone, Secretary and Office Staff Member, Sav-On Plumbing
Penny and Nancy have been close friends for over three decades. Penny worked in the information technology field for a major corporation here in Phoenix. After retiring, Penny was looking for meaningful part-time work that would enable her to earn a bit of extra cash and stay busy. When she told Nancy about her plans, Nancy invited Penny to work for her and Tom at Sav-On Plumbing. She instantly became an integral part of the team. She is that pleasant voice on the phone, books appointments and takes care of many other essential jobs. She also has a great sense of humor and doesn’t mind babysitting a German shepherd puppy on any given day.
Penny enjoys connecting with Sav-On’s customers. She’s especially proud to have a front-row seat watching how Tom and Nancy work wonders for people who need them. The fact that Tom and Nancy’s focus is helping people rather than profit is something she likes the most about the company.
