Remember that sweet voice that greeted our Sav-On customers over the last four years? Janet Caughell Borgstadt was that voice. We’re sad to announce that she passed away on April 7 from a massive heart attack while in Ohio at her parents’ memorial service. She died surrounded by family, many of whom she hadn’t seen in four decades.
Not only a valued employee, Janet and Nancy have a long history. Their parents moved them to the new two-acre Sunburst Farms in the West Valley in 1970. Janet, Nancy and other Sunburst kids quickly bonded over 4-H horse activities, hijinks, and the great life on the mini-farms there.
Nancy and Janet remained friends over the years, sharing many adventurous high school escapades at equestrian events and desert bonfire parties, always with a tight circle of Moon Valley graduates. All of us at Sav-On are devastated by this loss.
Janet is survived by her son Jason, her daughter Jamie, and several grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for the end of this month.
